What size ring am I?

I use the British system of ring sizing, which runs alphabetically. So what size are you? Well, if you already have your size in another type of system, you can check the chart at http://www.onlineconversion.com/ring_size.htm

How to determine your ring size ?

Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper around your finger. Mark the point where the two ends meet. Measure the string or paper against a ruler to get the circumference of your finger. Divide that by 3.14 to get the diameter of your finger. Now you have the diameter, and you can go back to http://www.onlineconversion.com/ring_size.htm and find your size. If you are wanting to buy a ring for a surprise gift, you will need to "borrow" a ring you know to be the right size, and find the diameter of the inside of it.

Please choose your ring size carefully as refunds and exchanges can not be given for the wrong size ordered. If a mistake is made ring re-sizing is available at extra cost, and postage both ways is the customers responsibility.

Please note larger sizes may have an additional cost for re-sizing, particularly for gold etc..

What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling Silver is an alloy ( mix) of pure (fine) silver, and pure copper. The ratio is Silver 92.5% to Copper 7.5%. This is why the stamp of quality for Sterling Silver is 925.

What is 9 carat Gold?

Since pure ( fine) gold is too soft for most uses it is alloyed with other metals, usually silver and copper, to achieve a desired hardness and colour. 9 Carat Gold is an alloy of fine gold, fine silver and copper, and has the stamp of quality of 375. This means it has 9 parts pure gold out of 24 parts. Or 37.5%, which is where the metric stamp comes from - 375. Available in Yellow, Rose and White, the other metals are in a different quantity to give a range of the 3 colours, but there is still the same amount of pure gold in the mix.

What is 14 carat Gold?

14 carat gold is stamped 417. This means it has 14.7 parts out of 24 that are pure gold, and basically means 58.5% gold. Available in Yellow, White and Rose, the colours just mean the rest of the metals mixed into the gold are different, to give you a range of colours, eg. Rose gold has more copper in it. It is still 14.7 parts out of 24 pure gold.

What is 18 carat Gold?
This is the most desirable alloy for engagement and wedding rings, being very strong and of high gold content. It has 18 parts pure gold out of 24, or 75%. It carries the metric stamp of 750. Also available in Yellow, Rose and White.
