Marina has been designing and making jewellery for over 20 years, having completed her 4 year Bachelor of Arts in Silversmithing with Honours in 1995 from the Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Her love of horses has naturally taken her to designing a dedicated range of jewellery based on the beauty of the horse.
The Studio
The studio in located in the southern part of Australia, in the state of Victoria. The 100 acre property is at the start of the Otway Ranges, and borders onto the Great Otway National Park, a stunning forest of huge diversity and wildlife. Regular visitors to our property include Kookaburras, Kangaroos, Sulphur Crested and Black Cockatoos, and Wedge-Tailed Eagles. The view from the studio window, over the jewellery bench is that of a 180 degree vista to the horison, sky, lowlands, forest, then the horses in the foreground, heaven on earth, and the best inspiration of all!
Quality
Each piece of jewellery is fully handmade the studio here in Victoria, Australia, and stamped with Marinas personal Makers Mark as a signature signifying quality and unique design. The stamp consists of two crescent moons surrounding the full moon, with the letter M in the centre. The jewellery is also stamped with the identifying code of metal quality, eg 925 for Sterling Silver and 375 for 9 carat Gold. Go to the FAQ for more details on these.
"Rio"
Marina's pure Spanish gelding, full name "Orrio" meaning Gold River in Spanish, is often the inspiration for these beautiful and original designs.
Rio and Marina performed a solo Liberty act in the 2011 Friesian Gala held in Victoria, Australia in April.
Inspiration is also found in the sea, the moon and organic shapes eg. spirals which occur within nature and inspire beauty within us all.
